Professional education received at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University (M.A in Art History with a Certificate in Art Conservation, 1982), Brandeis University (B.A. in Art History, 1978), with additional specialized coursework in materials analysis and conservation at the University of Pennsylvania, the National Center for occupational Hazards and the McCrone Research Institute. Presently Director and Chief Conservator of the Sculpture Conservation Studio in Los Angeles California. Specialized in objects conservation and museum collection management with considerable record of practice, teaching and publication in the field. Has been to Cuba on recent occasions as consultant and instructor for the Center for Conservation, Restoration and Museology on the conservation of ethnographic materials and art objects. Member of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works, the International Institute for Conservation, the American Schools of Oriental Research, the International Sculpture Society, and the Archaeological Institute of America. Native of Cuba.
